Plot:
The fastest hedgehog in the world returns in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, the next high-speed adventure that takes Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) and his friends to new heights. After defeating Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his mechanical monstrosities in the previous films, Sonic has found peace in the world. However, tranquility doesn’t last long. A new threat emerges from the depths of space—an interdimensional villain known as Mephiles the Dark, a powerful and malevolent force from an alternate dimension. With the ability to manipulate time and space, Mephiles seeks to erase Sonic’s world from existence and replace it with one under his control.
When Mephiles begins to alter reality itself, Sonic is thrown into a race against time—literally. The once-heroic freedom fighter must now team up with familiar faces like Tails (voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessey), Knuckles (voiced by Idris Elba), and Amy Rose (voiced by Tika Sumpter), along with a few new allies, to stop Mephiles from rewriting history. As Mephiles manipulates time, Sonic finds himself stuck in an endless loop of distorted realities, where every moment is a new version of his world—a dangerous, chaotic mess of fractured timelines.
In an attempt to stop Mephiles, Sonic must journey through twisted, alternate versions of the places he’s visited before, battling new enemies and facing unexpected challenges. From a futuristic metropolis where robots rule, to a dystopian Green Hill Zone overrun by Mephiles’ forces, Sonic will have to outsmart, outrun, and outmaneuver this new villain in ways he’s never done before. The stakes are higher than ever—Sonic must not only save his world but prevent the collapse of the multiverse itself.
As Sonic and his team push the limits of speed, they must also confront personal challenges and grow stronger, learning that the true power to save the world isn’t just in their speed, but in their unity and determination.
